For having free internets

fall opening near

It has been a pretty productive summer so far.

Gordon successfully rewrote the shared classes and a lot of the code in general—something that really needed to be done. I worked mostly on making sure everything is consistent across the servers. Last summer I didn’t have as much time to make things identical, and even where I did, things get out of sync. So I spent much of my time removing old files, upgrading things, organizing configuration files, and so on.

It is actually something I do enjoy doing, even though it may seem boring.

Some additional things were enhanced as well but I can’t always remember after the fact.

Right now I am waiting for the two new machines to arrive so we can get rid of two towers which are sitting in Bond Hall. Now that Alvis and Depts are pretty organized, I do not need to build the new systems from scratch; I can simply use dump(8) and restore(8) and have the new boxes live within a very short amount of time.

I also ordered a pair of Sennheiser PX100s from newegg.com. These will increase ResTek productivity (or so I hear:).
